DLY recently completed the pre-shipment inspection of a batch of ball screws prepared for overseas delivery. Before packing, our team checked the product appearance, specified dimensions, machined shaft ends and nut movement against the relevant order requirements.
After the inspection, the products received the required rust protection and were packed for transportation. These final checks help identify visible damage, dimensional discrepancies or packing issues before the products leave our factory.
Visual Inspection of the Ball Screw Surface
The inspection began with a visual check of the ball screws . Our team examined the screw shafts and raceways for visible scratches, impact marks, contamination or other surface conditions that could have occurred during handling.
The exterior of each ball nut and its connection with the screw shaft were also checked before the products moved to the next stage.
Checking Customized Dimensions
For ball screws with customized lengths or machined shaft ends, dimensions were checked according to the approved order information. Depending on the drawing, these checks can include the overall screw length, machined section diameters, shoulder positions, threads and other installation dimensions.
End machining must correspond with the intended bearing arrangement, coupling and ball screw support unit . Checking these details before shipment helps reduce avoidable installation problems after delivery.
Ball Nut Movement Check
The ball nut was moved along the usable stroke of the screw to check its running condition. The operator paid attention to obvious sticking, abnormal noise or uneven resistance during movement.
This operational check does not replace dimensional or accuracy inspection completed during manufacturing. It serves as a final confirmation that the nut can travel normally and that the assembly has not been visibly affected during later handling.
Rust Protection and Export Packaging
After the products passed the required checks, their surfaces were cleaned and prepared with rust protection. This step is particularly important for overseas shipments that may be exposed to changing temperatures, humidity and extended transportation or storage periods.
The protected ball screws were then packed to limit movement and contact during transportation. Packaging arrangements may vary according to screw length, order quantity, shipping method and customer requirements.
Inspection Based on Order Requirements
Pre-shipment inspection is the final review before delivery rather than the only quality-control stage. The applicable dimensions, operating checks and acceptance requirements depend on the product specification and the information confirmed with the customer.
