C7 Ball Screw Overview
DLY C7 Ball Screw is a rolled ball screw with standard C7 accuracy grade. It is suitable for CNC machinery, woodworking equipment, packaging machines, industrial automation, electronic machinery and general positioning axes where reliable linear motion, reasonable cost and shorter production time are required.
C7 accuracy means the lead accuracy is 0.05mm over 300mm. Compared with higher-grade ground ball screws, C7 rolled ball screws are more cost-effective and easier to supply for common machinery and automation applications.
DLY can supply C7 ball screws in different diameters, leads, nut structures and shaft lengths. Finished products, semi-finished screws and custom end machining can be confirmed according to the installation drawing or machine structure.

Accuracy Grade
C7 is a common accuracy grade for rolled ball screws. It is widely used in equipment where standard positioning accuracy is acceptable and where cost, delivery time and practical reliability are important. For many CNC routers, woodworking machines, packaging systems and general automation axes, C7 is a suitable and economical choice.
C7 should not be confused with zero backlash. Accuracy grade describes lead accuracy, while backlash is related to nut structure, preload and assembly. If lower backlash is required, a preloaded nut or double nut should be confirmed separately.
| Accuracy Grade | Manufacturing Type | Lead Accuracy | Typical Use |
|---|---|---|---|
| C7 | Rolled ball screw | 0.05mm / 300mm | CNC router, woodworking, packaging machinery, general automation |
| C5 | Ground ball screw | 0.018mm / 300mm | Precision positioning, measuring equipment, high-accuracy axes |
Supply Range
DLY C7 ball screws are available in a wide diameter and lead range for different machine structures. The screw can be supplied with a single nut or double nut, and the shaft length can be customized according to stroke and installation requirements.

Nut and Preload Options
A C7 ball screw can be matched with different nut structures. A single nut is shorter, easier to install and suitable for general automation. A double nut can be used when the machine requires lower backlash and higher axial rigidity.
Preload options such as P0, P1 and P2 should be confirmed according to the selected screw diameter, lead, nut type and application. If the axis reverses direction frequently or if the application is sensitive to backlash, the preload requirement should be discussed before ordering.
C7 accuracy grade alone does not define the backlash condition. For positioning systems that require lower backlash, confirm the nut type, preload, assembly method and operating load together.
C7 vs C5 Ball Screw
The main difference between C7 and C5 ball screws is the manufacturing process and lead accuracy. C7 is usually a rolled ball screw, while C5 is usually a ground ball screw. C7 is more economical and suitable for general automation, while C5 is selected when tighter positioning accuracy is required.
For CNC routers, woodworking machines, packaging equipment and common industrial automation, C7 is often sufficient. For precision measuring equipment, high-accuracy machine tools, semiconductor equipment or applications with strict positioning error control, C5 should be considered.
| Item | C7 Ball Screw | C5 Ball Screw |
|---|---|---|
| Manufacturing | Rolled | Ground |
| Lead Accuracy | 0.05mm / 300mm | 0.018mm / 300mm |
| Cost | More economical | Higher cost |
| Delivery | Usually faster for common sizes | Depends on grinding and specification |
| Suitable For | CNC router, woodworking, packaging, general automation | Precision positioning, measuring equipment, high-accuracy axes |
Product Features
DLY C7 ball screws provide a practical balance between positioning accuracy, cost and delivery time. The rolled manufacturing process supports efficient production, while the ball screw structure reduces friction compared with sliding screw mechanisms.
The available diameter and lead range allows the screw to be used in many linear motion systems, from compact automation axes to larger industrial equipment. Single nut and double nut options provide flexibility for different cost, rigidity and backlash requirements.
Custom end machining is available for bearing support, coupling connection and machine installation. For replacement orders, the original model, total length and end machining drawing are important for accurate confirmation.

Application Fields
C7 ball screws are suitable for equipment that needs reliable positioning without the cost of high-grade ground screws. Common applications include CNC routers, woodworking machinery, packaging equipment, electronic machinery, industrial automation, robotics and general machine tools.
In these applications, the ball screw converts rotary motion into linear motion with lower friction than traditional sliding screw structures. For equipment with higher positioning requirements, the lead accuracy, preload and nut structure should be confirmed before ordering.

Custom Length and End Machining
DLY can supply finished C7 ball screws with standard end machining, semi-finished screws for later processing, or customized end machining according to customer drawings. End machining can include bearing seats, lock nut threads, motor connection ends, flats, keyways and stepped shaft structures.
If a formal drawing is not available, provide the total length, required stroke, support type, motor connection method and installation space. DLY can help confirm whether the shaft end structure is suitable before production.
For replacement projects, photos of the existing screw, nut marking, shaft end dimensions and machine model can help speed up specification confirmation.
