DLY POSB Male Rod End Bearings

Inch Thread Male Rod End Bearings for Linkage and Motion Control Assemblies

DLY POSB Male Rod End Bearings are inch-thread rod end bearings designed for mechanical linkages, hydraulic cylinders, automation equipment, machinery and motion control assemblies. The POSB series has an external male thread, allowing the rod end to be screwed into a matching female threaded hole, nut or linkage component.

The POSB structure combines a spherical plain bearing, bronze liner, zinc-plated rod end body and lubrication design. It supports angular movement, self-aligning connection and reliable load transfer where two connected parts cannot remain perfectly aligned during operation.

Series: POSB Thread Type: Male Thread Thread Standard: Inch Size Range: POSB3-POSB16 Structure: Bronze Liner

Selection note: POSB is an inch-thread male rod end bearing series. For metric male thread rod ends, the POS series is usually more suitable. For internal female thread connection, choose the PHS series instead.

What Is a POSB Male Rod End Bearing?

A POSB male rod end bearing is a mechanical joint with an externally threaded shank and a spherical bearing inside the rod end body. The threaded shank is used for mounting, while the spherical bearing allows angular movement between connected parts.

Compared with a rigid connector, a POSB rod end can compensate for small alignment changes during movement. This makes it useful in linkage rods, cylinder rod ends, control arms, mechanical pivots and machines where the connected parts move under changing angles.

POSB Series Structure

The POSB series is designed with a male threaded rod end body, spherical plain bearing and bronze liner. The spherical contact surface allows oscillating movement, while the bronze liner supports wear resistance and smoother sliding contact during operation.

Structure Part POSB Design Function in Application
Male threaded shank External inch thread Connects with a female threaded hole, nut or linkage component.
Spherical bearing Spherical plain bearing structure Allows angular movement and helps compensate for small misalignment.
Bronze liner Spherical contact surface with bronze liner Improves sliding contact performance and supports stable operation.
Rod end body Zinc-plated surface Provides corrosion resistance for general industrial environments.
Lubrication design Lubrication hole or grease nipple Supports maintenance and helps reduce wear during repeated movement.

POSB Series Product Features

Inch Male Thread for Mechanical Linkage Connection

POSB rod end bearings use inch external threads such as 3/16×32, 1/4×28, 1/2×20 and 1×12. This makes the series suitable for equipment, linkage rods or replacement parts that require inch thread connection instead of metric thread.

Spherical Joint for Angular Movement

The spherical bearing structure allows the connected part to move within a limited angular range. POSB models provide 13° or 15° angular misalignment depending on the size, helping the joint adapt to small changes in working angle.

Bronze Liner and Lubrication Support

The bronze liner supports sliding contact between the spherical surfaces. The lubrication hole or grease nipple allows maintenance during service, which is important for linkage systems with repeated oscillating movement or exposed operating conditions.

Zinc-Plated Rod End Body

The rod end body is zinc-plated to improve surface protection. For hydraulic cylinders, machinery, automation equipment and outdoor-related mechanical assemblies, this surface treatment helps reduce corrosion risk under normal working environments.

POSB Series Dimension and Load Table

The original specification image has been converted into a readable table for easier model comparison. POSB models should be selected according to bore size, thread size, overall dimensions, angular misalignment and rated static load.

FAQ

Q: What does POSB mean in rod end bearings?

A: POSB refers to an inch-thread male rod end bearing series. It has an external threaded shank and a spherical bearing structure for linkage connection and angular movement.

Q: Is POSB a male or female rod end bearing?

A: POSB is a male rod end bearing. It has an external threaded shank. If the application requires an internal thread in the rod end body, a female rod end bearing such as PHS should be selected.

Q: What is the difference between POSB and POS?

A: POSB is used for inch-thread male rod end bearings, while POS is generally used for metric male rod end bearings. The correct choice depends on the thread standard required by the machine or linkage assembly.

Q: What sizes are available for POSB male rod end bearings?

A: The POSB series includes POSB3, POSB4, POSB5, POSB6, POSB7, POSB8, POSB10, POSB12, POSB14 and POSB16. The bore size, thread size, weight and rated static load vary by model.

Q: Can POSB rod end bearings compensate for misalignment?

A: Yes. The spherical bearing structure allows angular movement within a limited range. This helps compensate for small alignment changes in linkage systems, but the joint should still be installed within the allowed working angle and load range.

Q: What should be confirmed before ordering POSB rod end bearings?

A: Confirm the POSB model, bore size, external thread size, thread direction, quantity and application condition. For replacement use, checking the original sample or drawing helps avoid thread and dimension mismatch.
