RD Square Guideway is used in the slider cylindrical roller bearing, its total contact area is large, can bear a lot of load, and ball linear guide is used in the slider spherical roller bearing, can bear the load correlation is small.
This has the advantage that the total contact area is small, which corresponds to a smaller frictional resistance.

Pre-pressure

The pre-pressure is to give the roller load force in advance, that is, to increase the diameter of the roller, and to use the negative gap between the roller and the raceway to give the pre-pressure, which can improve the rigidity of the linear slide and eliminate the gap. The RD series linear slide provides the following three standard preloads.

The figure on the right shows the relationship between the rigidity performance, friction resistance and service life of the linear slide under different preloading conditions. Customers can choose the appropriate preloading level according to the rigidity and service life requirements of the equipment, but for small specifications, it is recommended to choose the preloading below the medium preloading to avoid excessive preloading and reduce its service life.
