1.Uses of Precision Linear Shaft
Precision Linear Shaft is widely used in automatic transmission systems, such as industrial robots, automatic recorders, computers, precision printers, special cylinder rods, and automatic wood-plasticizing machines.
Their robustness also extends the service life of common precision instruments.
They are also used in shafts and piston rods for pneumatic and hydraulic machinery, rubber and plastic molding machinery, construction machinery, handling machinery, aluminum extrusion machinery, parking equipment hydraulic cylinders, oxygen cylinders, booms, and other heavy-duty equipment.
2. Structure and Features of Precision Linear Shaft
Precision Linear Shaft is specially ground, hard-chrome plated, and then mirror-polished. They offer exceptional resistance to wear and corrosion.
Chrome-plated rods with a high-frequency treatment are also available.
Custom specifications are available.
3. Precautions for selecting WDCS special standard shaft
Because the steel ball moves linearly on the surface of the linear bearing, when selecting it, pay attention to its hardness, surface roughness and dimensional accuracy.
DLY produces standard shafts specifically for linear bearings.
Since the surface hardness of the shaft significantly affects its lifespan, please pay attention to the quality of the manufacturing material and the heat treatment method.
Materials suitable for surface hardening caused by medium and high frequency quenching include Gcr15 high carbon high chromium bearing steel, Sk36 carbon tool steel, S55C carbon steel for machinery, etc.
In special cases, corrosion-resistant martensitic stainless steel 9GCr18Mo/440C with a surface hardness of HRC58 (HV653) or above is also used.
The depth of the hardened layer depends on the size of the linear bearing, but it is generally recommended to use about 2mm.
SURFACE ROUGHNESS
In order to ensure smooth rolling, the processing time should be below 1.6S.
When a hollow shaft is required to reduce weight, we always have the following sizes available:

Note:
- Items marked with a colored are available in various lengths. Materials such as 20CrMo and 40CrMo are also available.
- The standard material is bearing steel. 45" steel, high-carbon steel, or 40CrMo stainless steel can be customized upon request, but the surface hardness will vary accordingly.
- If the customer requires a hard chrome-plated guide shaft, please specify this on the order form.
- If the customer requires screw holes or other matching dimensions at both ends, please indicate this in the technical specifications or on the order drawing.
