PHS Female Thread Rod End Bearing
DLY PHS rod end bearing is a female-thread spherical plain bearing designed for articulated connections in industrial machinery. Its spherical bearing structure permits angular movement between connected components and helps accommodate installation misalignment while transmitting primarily radial loads.
The PHS series uses a bronze sliding liner between the spherical contact surfaces. The rod body is zinc plated and provided with a lubrication hole or grease nipple, depending on the model and configuration. Standard models range from PHS5 to PHS30, with right-hand and left-hand female thread options.

PHS Rod End Bearing Structure
Female-Thread Rod Body
The internally threaded rod body connects to a mating externally threaded rod, linkage or adjustment component. This structure provides a compact connection where a female thread is required.
Spherical Plain Bearing
The spherical contact geometry allows the inner ring to tilt relative to the rod body. This movement helps the joint accommodate angular displacement and alignment variation between connected components.
Bronze Sliding Liner
A bronze liner is fitted at the sliding contact surface. It supports controlled oscillating and tilting movement and helps reduce direct contact between the mating bearing surfaces when correctly lubricated.
Lubrication Provision
The housing is provided with a lubrication hole or grease nipple. The standard bronze-lined PHS rod end bearing requires periodic lubrication according to its load, movement frequency and working environment.

Right-Hand and Left-Hand Thread Options
PHS rod end bearings can be supplied with right-hand or left-hand female threads. Combining right-hand and left-hand rod ends in one linkage allows the effective linkage length to be adjusted by rotating the connecting rod without disconnecting both ends.
Left-hand versions must be identified clearly on the purchase order. Add the specified "L" or left-hand designation and confirm the thread direction on the drawing before production.

Q: Is the PHS rod end bearing internally or externally threaded?
A: The PHS series has a female thread inside the rod body. For an external threaded shank, select a POS male rod end bearing.
Q: Does DLY supply left-hand PHS rod ends?
A: Yes. Right-hand and left-hand versions are available. The required thread direction must be stated clearly when submitting the model and drawing.
Q: Are PHS rod end bearings maintenance-free?
A: No. This PHS configuration uses a bronze sliding liner and includes a lubrication hole or grease nipple. Periodic lubrication is required.
Q: Can a PHS model be selected using only the female thread?
A: No. The bearing bore, female thread, installation dimensions, load rating and articulation angle should all be checked. On some larger models, the bore and nominal female thread sizes are different.
