SFE2525 Ball Screw Description
The SFE2525 ball screw is a specific high-lead model within the DLY SFE series. It has a 25 mm nominal screw diameter and a 25 mm lead, meaning that the nut travels a theoretical distance of 25 mm during each complete revolution of the screw shaft.
The model uses an internally recirculating flanged single nut. Its large lead makes it suitable for linear motion systems that require rapid travel without operating the motor at unnecessarily high rotational speeds.
The screw shaft is made of S55C, and the ball nut is made of 20CrMo. DLY commonly supplies C7 rolled ball screws, while C5 ground accuracy can be confirmed for applications with higher positioning requirements.
Other available SFE high-lead models include SFE1616, SFE1632, SFE2020, SFE2040, SFE2550, SFE3232, SFE3264, SFE4040 and SFE5050. View the SFE ball screw series for additional diameter-and-lead combinations.
SFE2525 Ball Screw Dimensions

Both SFE2525 configurations have a 25 mm nominal diameter, 25 mm lead and 3.696 mm ball diameter. Their main difference is the ball-circuit configuration and the resulting load and stiffness ratings.
| Model | Diameter (mm) |
Lead (mm) |
Ball Diameter (mm) |
Stiffness (kgf/μm) |
Dynamic Load (kgf) |
Static Load (kgf) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| SFE2525-3 | 25 | 25 | 3.696 | 31 | 1,470 | 3,350 |
| SFE2525-6 | 25 | 25 | 3.696 | 60 | 2,660 | 6,690 |
Ca and Coa are stated in kgf; stiffness K is stated in kgf/μm. Include the complete "-3" or "-6" suffix when confirming the required model.

SFE2525 Ball Screw Features
High-Lead Linear Travel
The 25 mm lead enables the nut to travel 25 mm during each screw revolution. At the same motor speed, this produces faster theoretical linear movement than a conventional ball screw with a 5 mm or 10 mm lead.
Internal Ball Circulation
SFE2525 uses an internal ball circulation path designed for its high-lead geometry. The recirculating balls provide rolling contact between the screw shaft and nut, supporting smooth linear movement when the assembly is correctly installed and lubricated.
Two Circuit Configurations
SFE2525-3 and SFE2525-6 provide different load and stiffness ratings. The SFE2525-6 configuration offers higher dynamic load, static load and stiffness values, while the appropriate model should be selected according to the actual operating load and service-life requirement.
Accuracy Options
C7 rolled accuracy is the standard option for general automation and fast-feed mechanisms. C5 ground accuracy can be confirmed when the application requires higher lead accuracy or more demanding positioning performance.
Backlash and Preload
Standard clearance and preload requirements should be confirmed before ordering. A preload option may be considered when the application requires reduced axial clearance, but the required preload level must match the load, speed and service-life conditions.
Material Construction
The SFE2525 screw shaft uses S55C steel, while the ball nut uses 20CrMo alloy steel. These are DLY's standard material configurations for this ball screw series.
Application Range
SFE2525 can be used in CNC equipment, automation systems, packaging machinery, woodworking machinery, linear modules, transfer mechanisms and other applications requiring fast linear travel.
The final selection should consider axial load, screw length, rotational speed, support arrangement, motor torque, positioning requirements and the possibility of back-driving.

End Machining Service

DLY provides shaft-end machining for SFE2525 ball screws according to customer drawings. Available processing can include bearing journals, shoulders, external or internal threads, retaining-ring grooves, keyways, flats and coupling sections.
For high-speed linear motion, the shaft-end dimensions, bearing arrangement and alignment directly affect assembly stability. The machining drawing should therefore specify the required bearing positions, shoulders, threads, tolerances and connection dimensions.
SFE2525 shaft ends can be processed for BK/BF, FK/FF or EK/EF support arrangements when the shaft-end dimensions correspond to the selected support-unit model. Please provide the support-unit model or a complete shaft-end drawing for confirmation.

FAQ About the SFE2525 Ball Screw
1. What are the diameter and lead of the SFE2525 ball screw?
The SFE2525 has a 25 mm nominal screw diameter and a 25 mm lead. The nut therefore travels a theoretical distance of 25 mm during each complete screw revolution.
2. What materials are used for the SFE2525 ball screw?
The screw shaft is made of S55C, and the ball nut is made of 20CrMo.
3. What accuracy grades are available?
C7 rolled accuracy is the standard option. C5 ground accuracy can be confirmed for applications requiring higher lead accuracy. Any preload or axial-clearance requirement should be specified separately.
4. Can SFE2525 be used with ball screw support units?
Yes. BK/BF, FK/FF or EK/EF support units may be used when the shaft ends are machined to match the selected support-unit dimensions. The support model and shaft-end drawing should be confirmed together.
5. Can the SFE2525 screw length and shaft ends be processed?
Yes. The screw length and shaft-end structure can be processed according to the confirmed drawing. If a different diameter or lead is required, another SFE model should be selected or evaluated separately.
6. How should an SFE2525 ball screw be maintained?
Maintain appropriate lubrication and prevent dust, chips and other contaminants from entering the ball raceway. Check the lubricant condition, protective cover and installation alignment according to the machine's operating environment and maintenance schedule.
7. What is the maximum operating speed of the SFE2525?
A single maximum rpm cannot be specified from the model number alone. Permitted speed depends on the screw length, support arrangement, critical speed, shaft-end dimensions, preload, alignment and operating load.
8. What information is required for an SFE2525 quotation?
Please provide the SFE2525-3 or SFE2525-6 configuration, total screw length, accuracy grade, shaft-end drawing, operating load, installation direction and required quantity.
9. Why purchase an SFE2525 ball screw from DLY?
DLY manufactures ball screws and related linear motion components and can support model confirmation, shaft-end drawing review, machining, inspection and export packaging for SFE2525 orders.
