This structure is also commonly described as a linear shaft with bottom support because the support rail reinforces the shaft along its length and reduces deflection compared with a round shaft supported only at both ends. SBR and TBR series are available in standard and custom lengths, with matching open linear bearing blocks supplied separately or as a complete set.

Supported Linear Shaft

A Supported Linear Shaft is a hardened round shaft mounted on a continuous aluminum support base. Also described as a linear shaft with bottom support, this structure reinforces the shaft along its length and reduces deflection in longer-travel applications.

DLY supplies SBR supported linear shafts and TBR supported linear shafts in standard and custom lengths. Matching open linear bearing blocks can be supplied separately or together with the supported rail.

The continuous bottom support makes the shaft less sensitive to bending than a round shaft supported only at its ends under comparable diameter, span and load conditions. Supported shaft systems are commonly used in CNC equipment, woodworking machines, automation systems, packaging machinery and other industrial linear motion structures.

SBR and TBR Supported Shaft Options

SBR and TBR are supported round-shaft systems with different support profiles, mounting dimensions and matching bearing blocks. They should be selected according to the required shaft diameter, machine structure, installation space and bearing-block configuration.

SBR Supported Linear Shaft

The SBR series uses a hardened round shaft fixed to an aluminum support base and operates with a matching SBR…UU open bearing block. Available shaft diameters range from 10 mm to 50 mm.

TBR Supported Linear Shaft

The TBR series is another bottom-supported round-shaft system with its own aluminum base and matching TBR…UU open bearing block. Available shaft diameters include 16, 20, 25 and 30 mm.

SBR and TBR rails and blocks are not interchangeable based only on nominal shaft diameter. The selected bearing block must match the rail series and size.

N and P correspond to the dimensional positions shown in the applicable product drawing. Confirm the complete SBR or TBR drawing before machining the equipment mounting surface.

Standard sizes are available in commonly used lengths. Custom cutting can be confirmed according to the model, required length and order quantity. If the required length exceeds the maximum single-piece length, send DLY the installation drawing to evaluate whether a jointed arrangement is suitable.
